Obama Mentions Self 33 Times in WH Speech; Biden Wanders Aimlessly

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Former President Barack Obama mentioned himself directly a total of 33 times during his speech at the White House while his ex-vice president, Joe Biden, wandered aimlessly about, Breitbart reported.

In his speech—ostensibly marking his first return to the White House since his term ended—Obama heaped praise on himself, reminding the world of his achievements in the health care field, courtesy of the Affordable Care Act.

“When President Biden said he was not going to just celebrate the ACA but also announce actions that would make it even better, I had to show up,” Obama said.

According to Obama, on the night that the ACA passed, “members of Congress took courageous votes, including some who knew that their vote would likely cost them their seat.”

In fact, the unpopular, overreaching legislation helped Obama to make history with the biggest midterm congressional losses of any president since historians began keeping track during the Franklin D. Roosevelt presidency.

“It was a high point of my time here, because it reminded me and reminded us of what is possible,” he added.

Biden, however, seems poised to break Obama’s record of 63 lost seats in the election this November, in which another “shellacking” is widely expected amid unprecedented inflation and a growing list of failed policies.

Many have speculated that the former president may still be calling the shots in the White House, and that the 79-year-old Biden may amount to little more than a placeholder, set up to fail in order to help Democrats enact their radical longterm agenda.

Obama noted at the event that Democrats must be patient with progress but to stay the course until they can outlast or wear-down any resistance.

“Everybody feels frustrated sometimes about what takes place in this town,” Obama said.
“Progress feels way too slow,” he continued. “But what the [ACA] shows is that, if you are driven by the core idea that together we can improve … if you stay with it and are willing to work through the obstacles and the criticism and continually improve where you fall short—you can make America better.”

Afterward, Biden sought unsuccessfully to catch the attention of his former boss while Obama posed for photo ops with current Vice President Kamala Harris.
