(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) New Jersey Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy improperly gave $10 million from COVID-19 relief funds in the form of stimulus checks to nearly half a million illegal immigrants, which some could argue is only stimulating more incentive to cross President Joe Biden’s open border.
That’s on top of the nearly $60 million Murphy allocated last year for illegals, reported Breitbart. As always, Americans themselves needed to pay for supporting people who came into this country illegally.
Doing out millions of dollars to people breaking the law drew plenty of criticism.
“There are so many good, hard-working families in the state of New Jersey that need help, and here we’re giving it to people who literally come across the border, we’re handing them taxpayers’ money,” said Jersey Assemblyman Parker Space, R-Sussex, according to NJ101.5.
“I mean it’s a bunch of crap if you ask me. It’s rolling out the red carpet here in the state of New Jersey for criminals and for illegals,” he added. “We have to take care of our people first.”
This year, New Jersey’s Office of Legislative Services accused Murphy of improperly transferring $10 million to illegal aliens in the state, NJ.com reported.
“Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration in April made what appears to be an improper transfer of $10 million in federal coronavirus relief money, according to an email from New Jersey’s nonpartisan Office of Legislative Services,” the outlet wrote.
Murphy’s office claimed they followed the law by spending $10 million or less.
“Each allocation from the Governor’s $200 million set aside is made in allocations of $10 million or less, in accordance with the administration’s interpretation of budget language,” Murphy’s office said in a statement.
“The Excluded New Jerseyans Fund has been expanded through a series of programmatic phases, each of which has been announced publicly.”
Giving away American taxpayers’ money to illegals is not something new. In fact, it became pretty common practice in the states and cities controlled by Democrats after disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo spent $2.1 billion for almost “[200,000] illegal aliens in the form of one-time $15,600 payments,” according to Breitbart.
