Musk and Dorsey Clash Over Twitter’s Child Porn Record

‘You all belong in jail...’

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) On Friday, Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey clashed on Twitter over the social media site’s track record regarding child pornography, according to the Daily Caller.

The interaction started when Mike Cernovich, a conservative commentator, tweeted at one of three people who resigned from Twitter’s Trust and Safety Council.

“You all belong in jail,” Cernovich wrote to Anne Collier, Eirliani A Rahman and Lesley Podesta.

In his post, he also posted a link to a Jan. 2021 report from the New York Post on a lawsuit over Twitter’s failure to remove a pornographic video featuring a child.

Musk responded to Cernovich’s tweet.

“It is a crime that they refused to take action on child exploitation for years!” he said.

Jack Dorsey, the ex-Twitter CEO, responded to Musk by saying that the claim was false.

“No, it is not,” Musk wrote in another of his tweets.

“When Ella Irwin, who now runs Trust & Safety, joined Twitter earlier this year, almost no one was working on child safety.”

“She raised this with Ned & Parag, but they rejected her staffing request,” he continued.

“I made it top priority immediately.”

Previously, Musk said that dealing with child sexual exploitation on Twitter would be the top priority.

He also followed up on his response to Dorsey.

“At the same time, Ned was spending millions of dollars on Warriors seats,” he wrote. “Super messed up priorities.”

Irwin intervened by backing up Musk.

“I wish this was false but my experience this year supports this,” Irwin wrote.

“I fought hard to get funding to replace the people working on this who left in early 2022 and was told no. At one point there were 0 engineers and very few employees working on CSE and still no funding.”

Dorsey responded to Musk, Cernovich and Irwin.

“I don’t know what happened in past year. But to say we didn’t take action for years isn’t true,” he wrote.

“You can make all my emails public to verify. Company took away my access to email or I would.”
