MTG: Police Report Filed over Jimmy Kimmel Threat

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has filed a “threat of violence” with the Capitol Police after comments made by comedian Jimmy Kimmel on his show.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene… is upset with the three Republican senators who said they’ll vote ‘yes’ on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson who is nominated for the Supreme Court,” Kimmel said in his monologue.

He went on to quote a tweet she posted reacting to Sens. Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins and Mitt Romney statements saying they will vote for Jackson:

“Murkowski, Collins, and Romney are pro-pedophile,” the tweet reads. “They just voted for #KBJ.”

“Wow, where is Will Smith when you really need him, huh?” Kimmel said, presumably making an attempt at humor, referencing the slap Smith gave Chris Rock at the Oscars.

In response, Greene filed a warning with the Capitol Police:

“@ABC, this threat of violence against me by @jimmykimmel has been filed with the @CapitolPolice,” Greene tweeted.

Kimmel has not responded.

Republicans—with the exception of Murkowski, Collins and Romney—have been critical of Jackson’s appointment because of her history of dolling out light sentences, especially to pedophiles and child pornographers.

Senate Republicans accused the White House of withholding information regarding a case of a man with “over 6,500 files depicting children appearing to be of elementary, middle, and high school ages, engaged in sexual acts or posing sexually.”

Jackson gave this man the minimum sentence. Republicans argued that more information on the case needed to be released before the vote, which takes place on Thursday.

“Not only does this case, which Judge Jackson left off her list of child abuse cases, undercut her argument that she followed the probation office’s recommended sentences, but it also underscores the perils of moving too quickly in the vetting process,” a Republican Judiciary Committee aide said.
