Red-Pilled Bill Maher Slams Ohio Univ.’s Campus Segregation Plan

'Well, congratulations liberal parents, you just paid $100 grand for your kid to move to Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1948...'

On last Friday’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, liberal host Bill Maher mocked the radical Left’s push for segregation in cafeterias, gyms and dorms on several university campuses.

Maher warned that America could come apart as the proposal for a ‘black’ national anthem gains traction on the Left and university students embrace segregation.

In his monologue, Maher referenced a report from the College Fix about a proposed minority-only gym on the campus of Ohio University.

“I have a hard time believing that the vast majority of African Americans care—that in private conversations they’re saying, ‘Oh, I just can’t stand doing squats in front of white people,'” he said.

“Really, we can’t even go to the gym together?,” Maher asked.

The university’s administration did not initially deny the report.

“University administration has partnered with Graduate Student Senate to develop a plan that will maximize use of under-utilized space while creating opportunity to better serve all populations of students,” said Carly Leatherwood, OU’s senior director of communications services.

But after the College Fix reported that Gigi Secuban, the university’s vice president of diversity and inclusion, proposed a minority-only gym, the administration said the proposal would not be implemented.

The administration also directed a student newspaper, the New Political, to rescind its article on Secuban’s proposal.

“Secuban mentioned a plan to turn one of the racquetball courts at Ping Recreation Center into a private workout room for minorities, sexual assault survivors, or people with special religious accommodations,” the New Political reported before issuing a retraction which stated that all students would be able to use the gym.

Maher also discussed a survey of 173 college campuses, which found that “42% offer segregated residences, 46% offer segregated orientation programs, and 72% host segregated graduation ceremonies.”

“Well, congratulations liberal parents, you just paid $100 grand for your kid to move to Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1948,” he said.

With the radical Left pushing Democrats in an increasingly totalitarian direction, Maher’s refusal to abandon the tenets of classical liberalism has not been lost on conservatives, many of whom had long regarded him as a blowhard mouthpiece for progressivist hypocrisy.
