(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Incumbent U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert may be facing trouble this week, as Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District announced that it will not know their midterm results until Thursday.
Boebert, a popular MAGA firebrand, is currently ahead of her Democrat opponent Adam Frisch by 1,100 votes, or 0.3%, which is within the margin for an automatic recount.
According to Legal Insurrection, several reports of ballot curing have been coming out of the area.
Poll workers have been rejecting thousands of ballots for issues related to signature verification, then alert the voters of the issue and give them a week to fix the problem so their vote counts.
Colorado is one of 23 states that allows ballot curing. There are between 3,000 and 6,000 left to count after they’ve been verified. However, according to a statement from Frisch, not much is expected to change.
Matt Crane, executive director of the County Clerks Association of Colorado, agreed.
“When a recount happens our experience here in Colorado is that this reflects that the original count was accurate,” he said.
The majority of votes that have to be verified are members of the military and citizens voting from overseas.
“Colorado has an electronic portal that’s direct to the Secretary of State’s office that allows people to vote electronically and send their votes back that way,” Crane explained.
The state of Colorado has struggled with other forms of election fraud.
Investigations into Dominion voting systems show the state’s elections were compromised in the past. When election records were being deleted, a Colorado whistleblower copied them and hired a team of cybersecurity experts to find inconsistencies.
“Because the enclosed report reveals shocking vulnerabilities and defects in the current system, placing my office and other country clerks in legal jeopardy, I am forwarding this to the county attorney and to you so that the county may assess its legal position appropriately,” she said.
“Then, the public must know that its voting systems are fundamentally flawed, illegal, and inherently unreliable.”
