Amid Rumors of Joy Reid Departure, MSNBC Taps Ex-Kamala Spox for New Shows

Sanders launched her political career as press secretary for the 2016 presidential campaign of socialist Bernie Sanders...

(Headline USA) While race-baiting, homophobic slandermonger Joy Reid may soon find herself back out on the streets after rumors of her impending pink-slip, far-left MSNBC wasted no time finding a replacement who checks many of the same boxes.

The network has hired Symone Sanders, former aide to President Joe Biden and spokeswoman for Vice President Kamala Harris, to host shows on its television and streaming services.

Sanders, 32, will host a Washington-based weekend show on MSNBC, along with a program on “The Choice from MSNBC,” a news and analysis destination on the Peacock streaming service.

Depite being part part of a widely publicized exodus of Biden and Harris staffers—Sanders announced only last month that she was leaving her job as chief spokesperson for Harris—there is no indication that the rift will make her any less radical in her politics.

In fact, Sanders may be even more likely to carry water for the current administration, helping influence media propaganda internally at the network while continuing to take her marching orders from the White House.

The move comes even after “rival” leftist cable network CNN recently was forced to fire top prime-time anchor Chris Cuomo for allowing his conflicts of interest to compromise the network’s appearance of objectivity. Cuomo, the brother of disgraced ex-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was revealed to have been an active participant in the governor’s spin campaign following a series of sex scandals.

But Democrats have a long history of pursuing ‘incestuous’ ties within the mainstream media. Current ABC News personality (and longtime “chief anchor”) George Stephanopoulos began his career as a campaign adviser for Bill Clinton.

Ben Rhodes, the chief propaganda czar and deputy national security adviser for the Obama administration, is the brother of former CBS News president David Rhodes.

MSNBC President Rashida Jones, who announced the hiring of Sanders, was not immediately made available for an interview.

Sanders, from Omaha, Nebraska, was press secretary for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders‘s 2016 presidential campaign. She worked as a commentator for CNN following that campaign before signing on as a senior adviser to Biden’s campaign in 2020.

A former fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics, she wrote the book No, You Shut Up: Speaking Truth to Power and Reclaiming America in 2020.

It is not unusual for spokespeople to transition to cable network positions, although it normally happens after the elected term is over.

Former George W. Bush spokeswoman Nicolle Wallace and ex-congressman Joe Scarborough are major MSNBC stars, and David Axelrod, former top aide to Barack Obama, works at CNN.

After Donald Trump left the presidency last year, Fox News quickly snapped up his ex-press secretary Kayleigh McEnany as a commentator and aide Larry Kudlow, the longtime CNBC host, to do a show on the Fox Business Network. Trump’s first press secretary, Sean Spicer, hosts a show on Newsmax.

Sanders, who is black, is also part of NBC News chief Cesar Conde’s stated effort to boost diversity at the news division.

In addition to Joy Reid, other minorities begun hosting roles at MSNBC since Conde announced new diversity goals in mid-2020. Among them: Jose Diaz–Balart, Alicia Menendez, Joshua Johnson, Mehdi Hasan, Ayman Mohyeldin and Jonathan Capehart.
