(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Joy Behar, co-host of ABC’s The View, said on Wednesday’s episode of the show that she hopes President Donald Trump beats Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the 2024 Republican primary because she thinks that the Democratic party can actually beat Trump after that.
Behar made her remarks after other co-hosts on the panel attacked DeSantis, including a fake conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin who said that DeSantis “is the most over-hyped politician in America,” according to the Daily Wire. As of March 30, 2023, DeSantis hasn’t even announced that he is going to run for the presidency in 2024.
“I want to see him sit down with a neutral interviewer like George Stephanopoulos and actually answer tough questions,” Griffin said unironically. Stephanopoulos lost his reputation as a “neutral interviewer” when he decided to serve as White House press secretary for former President Bill Clinton.
Then, Behar intervened by insulting DeSantis.
“DeSantis is what they call a dweeb,” she said. “And Trump is the one who needs to get the nomination because then the Democrats will win.”
People immediately responded to the comments of the hosts of the leftist show.
“These [clowns] debase themselves every day,” commentator Dave Rubin wrote in his tweet. “She wants DeSantis to sit down with a ‘neutral journalist like George Stephanopolous’, who was press secretary for Bill Clinton and happens to work at the same network as her.”
“Also the brain-melting way she tries to pretend DeSantis’s victory wasn’t a record-setting landslide, and how Joy says the quiet part out loud … they actually want Trump … because DeSantis is the real threat,” Rubin added.
As it was heavily reported by conservative commentator John Doyle in his over-two-hour-long report, DeSantis is not “the real threat” to the establishment because he is backed by the establishment and pushed as a “safe” alternative to Trump.
“They openly admit that they want Trump because they think he’s easier to beat,” the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh tweeted.
A political commentator Stephen L. Miller shared Walsh’s viewpoint.
“Joy Behar putting on a masterclass of saying the quiet part out loud.”
