(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Actor Jim Caviezel is starring in a soon-to-come movie called Sound of Freedom, which will document the life of a man who spent years personally working against human traffickers, the National Catholic Register reported.
According to the Passion of the Christ star’s character in the Sound of Freedom, God’s children are not for sale.
In the movie, Caviezel plays Homeland Security Special Agent Tim Ballard, who goes on a mission to save South American children from the human trafficking industry.
After catching numerous pedophiles, Ballard eventually quit his job in search of a young girl who had been taken deep into the Columbian jungle.
Ballard and his wife, Katherine, have nine children, including two that Ballard bought during a sting operation in Haiti.
“I think that story is even more dramatic,” Ballard said, noting that it will be told in the forthcoming sequel.
According to Ballard, even for someone in the anti-pedophilia world, the extent of the problem is astounding.
“I was more shocked every year at how deep and big this problem was.”
He further noted that he had to quit his government job in order to save children who had been given up for lost.
“After 12 years of limitations with government bureaucracy, there were two cases in 2012 that I was told to leave alone,” he said. “I couldn’t. I had gone too deep. My wife and I made the decision to quit the government job to save the children.”
At the time, Ballard left his comfortable salary and the security of a government job in order to save the children from a life of being prostituted off to the highest bidder.
“The only way to do this operation was to walk away from job security,” he said.
According to Caveizel, this film is among the most important that he has made.
“I am so proud to be a part of this impactful film. In fact, I’d say this is the second most important film I’ve done after The Passion Of The Christ.”
The Sound of Freedom will come to theaters across the United States on July 4.
