Conservative organizations sent a letter on Tuesday to Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, asking him to investigate the financial records of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden‘s family.
“As you also know, public record has established beyond doubt that Vice President Biden repeatedly took his son on official trips to foreign nations and that soon after such trips his son’s companies were receiving millions in contracts from government related entities in those nations,” the group wrote.
Seven conservative organizations signed onto the letter: Frontiers of Freedom, Americans for Limited Government, Institute for Liberty, Less Government, Project 21, 60 Plus Association, and the American Business Defense Council.
Their letter comes in response to Neal’s efforts to obtain President Donald Trump’s tax returns, which had continued even after Robert Mueller’s multi-million dollar investigation with subpoena power that did not uncover any criminality.
Biden has previously denied having any knowledge about his son’s foreign business dealings, despite evidence to the contrary.
“Evidence from the computer emails as well as testimony from one of his son’s former business colleagues who attended meetings with Vice President Biden show his emphatic denial is now one of the boldest falsehoods ever told an American public life,” the group wrote.
Biden “openly boasted on camera” that he coerced the Ukrainian government by threatening to withhold $1 billion in foreign aid until Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin was fired.
Shokin was investigating Burisma, a natural gas company from which Biden’s son Hunter collected millions of dollars a year, despite lacking knowledge of energy police or Ukraine.
Biden’s blackmail succeeded.
“In any case, we hope that you would welcome the chance to assist Vice President Biden in laying to rest any allegations that he was using his office and official travel to influence foreign governments or entities to benefit his son’s businesses,” the group wrote.
