Asst. Health Secretary Insists Transition ‘Empowers’ Children

'If you support the protection and defense of children, vote Republican...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) In an interview with MSNBC, Biden’s transgender Assistant Health Secretary Rachel Levine discussed COVID, Monkeypox and the transitioning of children.

“You asked people to make medical decisions on real data and compassion, rather than slander,” host Andrea Mitchell said to Levine in reference to the Health Secretary’s recently published op-ed in the Miami Herald.

“They have more mental health issues,” Levine responded. “But there’s nothing inherent about being transgender or gender-diverse which would predispose youth to depression or anxiety.”

Levine did not offer any data points or studies that confirmed this claim.

Continuing, Levine claimed that transgender children are victims of “politically motivated attacks through state actions.”

Levine was likely referring to the recent block that a federal court in Tennessee put on the Biden administration’s interpretation of a law which would conflate biological sex and gender identity.

Because of the ruling, female athletes will at be temporarily protected from being forced to compete against males in 20 states.

In the interview, Levine said he does not “want to limit” the participation of biologically male transgender minors in female sports, or “limit their ability to get gender-affirmation treatment in their state.”

Levine encouraged Americans to “empower” kids to take puberty blockers in addition to getting sex change surgery.

He did not have any data to support that medical transitions are necessary or helpful to people experiencing gender dysphoria.

Social media users had a lot to say about the interview:
