(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Ghazi Hamad, a deputy foreign minister of Hamas, stormed out of an interview with the BBC when pressed about the trail of horror left by the group’s terrorists in southern Israel on Oct. 7.
The interview, conducted by BCC Middle East correspondent Hugo Bachega, turned heated when he questioned Ghazi about the approximately 1,400 individuals, including U.S. citizens, killed by Hamas terrorists.
Hamas spokesman Ghazi Hamad abruptly interrupted my interview and walked away after I repeatedly asked him how he could justify the killing of hundreds of civilians, including many women and children, in the 7 October attacks in Israel. pic.twitter.com/TSNjxgZRp6

“There was no command to kill any civilians,” Hamad alleged, echoing previous claims from the terror group that Gazans were at fault for the inhumane atrocities. Specifically, he resuscitated the Hamas talking point that the mass killing was the product of “clashes and confrontations” between Palestinians and Israeli citizens.
Bachega pushed back against Hamad’s defense, which has been debunked by numerous outlets and mounting evidence. “It’s not a confrontation — you invaded houses,” Bachega said, to which Hamad replied, “I can tell you that we didn’t have any intention or decision to kill the civilians.”
An undeterred Bachega pushed back, “How do you justify killing people as they sleep, families? How do you justify killing hundreds of people in …?” But Hamad interrupted the BBC journalist, proceeding to take off his microphone and throwing it on a nearby table.
“I want to stop this interview,” Hamad declared, cowardly refusing to answer the questions.
Hamad’s remarks echoed the claims by Khalil al-Hayya, a member of the Hamas Politburo stationed in Qatar, who told the New York Times that Gazans killed Israelis, not Hamas.
“Our issue is with the soldiers, the military people,” al-Hayya told the Times last week, claiming that Hamas’s armed wing, Qassam Brigades, was barred from harming civilians.
