GOP Rep. Bishop Eviscerates $1.7 Trillion Spending Spree that Senate RINOs Boosted

'On a more sinister note, here's at least $575 million for 'family planning' in areas where population growth 'threatens biodiversity'... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) The usual herd of Senate RINOs, along with a few discouraging collaborators, agreed Tuesday night to advance the $1.7 trillion leftist agenda spending plan and omnibus grift.

The move from Senate RINOs was an overt snub of a conservative coalition of House Republicans that had vowed political retribution for any Senate Republicans who favored the bill.

Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C., who was one of several Freedom Caucus members to endorse a scathing letter to Senate Republicans who would support the omnibus bloat, unleashed an epic Twitter thread Tuesday that laid bare what the $1.7 trillion travesty is funding. Bishop, ironically, shot out of the gate with what the spending spree is not funding.

The bill “expressly prohibits CBP funding from being used to improve border security,” Bishop wrote. “But at the same time, allocates $410 million towards border security for Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman. America Last in action,” the lawmaker explained.

Bishop was equally brutal in blasting the gross waste of earmarks that included $65 million in two programs for Senator Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and a federal building named for Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

“Swamp gonna Swamp,” Bishop cracked. Other outrageously egregious spending highlighted by Bishop included:

  • $26 million for the U.S. House’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion
  • $286 million in Title X funding, which funds Planned Parenthood
  • $200 million for gender programs in Pakistan and a Gender Equity Fund
  • $524.4 million for a DEI and “structural racism”-focused NIH subdivision

“Dan Bishop is on an absolute tear,” the Daily Caller proclaimed, while Outkick’s Clay Travis lamented that “This thread is infuriating.”

Bishop responded, “Get madder.” And he continued lacerating the leftist spending splurge that two dozen alleged Senate Republicans voted to move forward.

“Last year’s administrative expenses for the vax injury trust fund were $13.2 million – now it’s $15.2 million,” Bishop informed. “That’s a 15% increase. Anticipating a 15% increase in vaccine injuries?”

Bishop also ominously noted the spending “authorizes ‘sums as may be necessary’ for vaccine injury/death claims.”

“McConnell’s plan was for the Establishment to sabotage both the Senate and the House during the midterm elections,” wrote Todd Starnes.

“When his efforts in the House failed, he colluded with Dems to strip his own party’s power in the House. This was about destroying the America First movement.”
