Fla. Dems Shriek, Chant Songs in Desperate Bid to Derail Disney Taxation

'Lead by House Speaker Chris Sprowls, the leftist representatives turned the typically civil process of voting on proposed legislation into complete chaos... '

(Alex Tien, Headline USA) Florida leftists are really wound up. During a Florida senate vote Thursday to eliminate Disney’s special privileges in the state, Democrat lawmakers resorted to screeching, screaming and chanting songs while the vote was to be debated.

Bill 4C would eliminate special tax districts that have allowed Disney to operate effectively as it’s own municipal government for over fifty years. The Reedy Creek Improvement district has allowed the corporation bypass zoning laws, as well as control land use, taxes and emergency medical services.

A number of Democrat members of the state’s house yelled and screamed during the voting in attempt to disrupt and malign the procedures, according to the Daily Caller.

Lead by House Speaker Chris Sprowls, the leftist representatives turned the typically civil process of voting on proposed legislation into complete chaos. Yelling unintelligibly, the cacophony was fortunately unable to achieve its desired effect, and the bill easily passed by a 70 to 38 vote.

Republicans responded to their opponents across the aisle by loudly cheering and applauding after it was announced that the bill had passed.

The bill comes after Disney has repeatedly doubled down and tripled down on its woke agenda after Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis passed the Parental Rights in Education act, banning sexual education and grooming for transgenderism and gender identity in public schools to young children in the state.

Disney has responded by promising more LGBT content for young children. A recent meeting uncovered that executives at the company are pushing for 50% of characters to be LGBT or in minority groups.

This vote is just the latest blow to the entertainment conglomerate. It was reported this week that out of all of the corporations that comprise the Dow Jones Industrial Average, Disney’s stock had been the worst performing stock of year, falling 21% in 2022.
