(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A father who lost his own son to a mass shooting advocated for solutions other than gun control after learning about the massacre at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
Compare that to Joe Biden and other Democrats, who have used the tragedy to push for more gun-control laws.
Andrew Pollack, a father of a son who was murdered in the 2018 high school shooting in Parkland, Florida, disagreed and said that the school shooting could’ve been prevented if other methods were used.
“We shouldn’t be focusing on gun control now. Parents should be focused on what they can do. They could learn and educate themselves,” he told Fox News.
“We should be looking at what we can be doing to fix these things in schools. A single point of entry,” Pollack said.
“How did the intruder get into the school? It should be locked down. We need school resource officers. And it’s just terrible to think that this was all avoidable.”
Pollack posted a three-step solution on Twitter that he said would stop mass shootings at schools: armed guards at the school, a single point of entry, and teacher training.
Pollack also said that parents are responsible for their children and which schools they attend. He encouraged them to go to their kids’ schools and make sure that these schools will be safe for the children.
“We have $40 billion to send over to Ukraine to protect their borders, but we can’t protect our children in our country. What are our children worth?
“How far could that have [gone]? How many [policemen] could we have paid with $40 billion to be at schools?” Pollack asked.
However, Democrats still blame guns as a reason why mass shootings happen, and they want them banned.
“The only solution the Left truly believes will work is total gun confiscation,” wrote the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro.
“They refuse to argue on behalf of that. So instead, they simply use phrases like ‘[common-sense] gun reform,’ and then refuse to specify what such reform would be or how it would stop mass shootings.”
In a reply to his tweet, he added that the Left will also blame the other side for being paid off and not caring about children.
“Then they lie and say that you oppose ‘[common-sense] gun reform’ because you are either being paid by the gun lobby or because you don’t care enough about slain children,” he said.
“It’s despicably dishonest.”
