DOJ: N.J.’s Noncitizen Voters More than 5X What Dems Acknowledged

'Through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway...'

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) The Justice Department said that the illegal voters New Jersey Democrats admitted to letting slip through the cracks during the 2024 election were just the tip of the iceberg.

“So, our Homeland Security has actually informed the state of New Jersey that there are potentially 35,000 people on the voter rolls who are not United States citizens who could be casting ballots, and New Jersey has been mum on that,” said Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division, during an interview Thursday with Newsmax. “That’s why I’m suing New Jersey.”

The figure is more than five times what New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill acknowledged two days prior in a statement, claiming that a “software error” in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System was responsible for allowing roughly 6,600 noncitizens to register.

Of those, Sherrill claimed the damage was limited to just a couple hundred illegal votes.

“Our preliminary analysis shows fewer than 400 individuals who were newly registered for the first time because of the error voted,” she said in the statement. “They were registered as Democrats, Republicans and Unaffiliated voters and were scattered across the state.”

Sherrill, who was in Congress at the time, was quick to pass the buck back to the prior administration of fellow Democrat Phil Murphy.

“This happened under the previous administration and, upon learning this information, I immediately ordered my chief counsel to launch an investigation to get to the bottom of what occurred,” she claimed.

She said she had removed the voters erroneously added during that yearlong window and planned to replace the vendor who administered the system.

Sherrill also said the individuals detected through the investigation all had answered “no” when asked if they were U.S. citizens applying for identification cards, “but through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway.”

The claims from the notoriously corrupt blue state raise deeper questions as to how many ineligible voters who answered “yes” might still be undetected, as well as those who were registered through previous glitches outside the scope of the investigation.

The timing of it also seemed curious as Trump administration officials have begun an all-out blitz to close election-integrity loopholes long believed to have been exploited by the Left, in coordination with foreign powers like China.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin revealed earlier in the month that a review of just four states — California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Nevada — had uncovered more than 250,000 noncitizens on the voter rolls.

On July 16, President Donald Trump delivered a rare primetime address in which he revealed that voting systems in the U.S. were much easier to hack than acknowledged previously, and that China had used some 220 million U.S. voter files in high-level efforts to meddle in the 2020 election.

Trump said much of the new information came directly from files that the intelligence community had left behind in hidden “burn bags,” suggesting there had been a seditious conspiracy to cover up the vulnerabilities during his previous term in office.

Many of the now-declassified files were uploaded to a new “election integrity” section of the official White House website.

While the Justice Department has filed several lawsuits, with little success, to compel blue states to hand over their dirty voter rolls for auditing, the administration is hopeful that a new policy through the United States Postal Service will leave them no choice but to cooperate.

The measure, which would block the delivery of mail-in ballots for states that refused to submit voter lists and affix scannable bar codes on ballots, was approved on a temporary basis by the D.C. Circuit court.

Republicans are also hopeful for what seems like their best shot at passing the long debated SAVE America Act, which would mandate voter ID, among other things.

The House of Representatives recently affixed it to its annual National Defense Authorization Act appropriations, which would allow it to pass the Senate through the budget reconciliation process, provided it can clear the Senate parliamentarian and get a simple majority.

A previous test vote was able to get 50 supporters, with Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, agreeing to the election-integrity components of the bill. That would allow it to pass with a tiebreaking vote from Vice President JD Vance, who also has authority as Senate president to overrule leftist Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough.

Pressure is on to implement legislative and administrative safeguards with just over three months until the midterm elections, with Democrats already plotting to derail Trump’s agenda should they regain control of Congress.

In an interview Friday with Fox Business, Dhillon accused Democrats of “moving the goalpost” by continuing to shrug off potential voter fraud, even if they are willing to acknowledge its presence.

“First, they say ‘it doesn’t happen.’ Then, they say it’s ‘really rare.’ Now, they say, ‘it happens quite a bit but didn’t change the outcome of an election!’” Dhillon said. “I don’t know when the next shoe is gonna drop, but the DOJ is taking this issue very seriously.”
