Dems Claim Inflation Fight by Spending Billions on Radical Green Agenda

'How does confiscating wealth and attacking energy production reduce inflation? ... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Democrats have shifted their focus from the now-dead Build Back Better Bill and are attempting to pass the ironically-named Inflation Reduction Act, which spends $739 billion largely to fund a radical leftist agenda.

This deal would not only do little to nothing to limit inflation, but would also spend billions on climate alarmism initiatives, many of which could damage American agriculture, Western Journal reported.

Democrats are attempting to allocate $369 billion to “Energy Security and Climate Change.” Several of the bill’s items, while throwing around loads of loot, will make it more difficult for American farmers to operate, as they will be legally bound to minimize emissions.

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., announced that he was willing to vote on the new act after reaching a deal with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Manchin originally had killed the Build Back Better plan because he believed that the $2.4 trillion welfare and green energy bill was too expensive.

“Over the last year, leaders in Washington have ignored repeated warnings about the severe threat of inflation and the consequences of unprecedented domestic spending,” Manchin argued in a statement.

The Inflation Reduction Act seems to be Manchin’s road to reconcile with the Senate, as well as his voters. That view was not roundly shared.

Along with throwing around hundreds of billions of dollars for woke green initiatives, the nearly $740-billion bill also includes a new 15% minimum tax on corporations that earn more than $1 billion in annual profits, and aims to lower prescription drug costs and fund health insurance subsidies for COVID.

President Joe Biden enthusiastically embraced the spending spree, even though his spokesperson couldn’t explain how it would help the average family or consumer.

When asked if the vaunted Inflation Reduction Act would “actually have an impact on the price of rent, on food, on some of the other things that have seen prices go up?” the White House sputtered for a coherent answer.

“What we’re seeing in the act deals with healthcare and climate,” spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre obfuscated, before launching into a convoluted explanation that explained nothing.

“Only Democrats would have the audacity to introduce a bill with $800 billion in new spending on Green New Deal crap and then call it the ‘Inflation Reduction Act,'” wrote Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo.
