(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) CNN host Alisyn Camerota put Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., in an awkward position on air by showing an old tweet she posted, which criticized former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents.
Jayapal, who insisted Trump “be held accountable to the full extent of the law,” argued that President Biden holding onto classified information since his days as vice president was clearly different, reported the Daily Caller.
“There are clear differences here in how this president it and we’ll just have to wait for the special counsel to do his work,” she claimed.
Camerota then showed everyone her old tweet accusing Trump of “stealing” classified documents and “put[ting] our national security at risk.”
Donald Trump stole classified documents. He put not only our national security at risk, but the security and safety of our allies around the world.

Camerota asked Jayapal if Biden should be held to the same standard.
“I absolutely think that is why the Department of Justice has appointed the special counsel,” Jayapal said. “That doesn’t mean that there isn’t a problem here, and certainly there’s a political problem for all of us as Democrats.”
“I do think that there are significant differences, and I do think it’s important to look at the fact this president is cooperating completely with the investigation,” she added.
The FBI illegally raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, leading to the discovery of several documents.
Biden claimed ignorance regarding documents, which his staffers initially found in his office at the University of Pennsylvania. Federal agents discovered more at a think tank office with links to China and in the garage of his personal home.
The papers allegedly contain information related to Ukraine, Iran and the United Kingdom.
Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate the documents.
Biden did not have authority to declassify documents as vice president and lacked the authority to take them to his private residence and offices.
Some speculated that this is an attempt by Democrats to usher Biden out the door and introduce a new candidate.
“This is all happening very fast,” wrote America First Report’s JD Rucker. “It makes one wonder what’s really going on here. It’s odd that three different batches of classified documents were found all at once. Are the Democrats dumping Biden? Is there something more nefarious afoot?”
