(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) As midterms steadily approach and Democrat approval ratings continue to dive-bomb, CNN‘s host of Inside Politics, John King, requested that people “give the Democrats some grace” because “governing is hard.”
According to NewsBusters, King’s comments came up after an ad attacking Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., on the topic of inflation.

“It is much easier to be the opposition party… give the Democrats some grace. Governing is hard, especially when you have tiny margins,” King said.
“But—but that’s the challenge for Democrats, they need to get on the same page because the Republicans are just going to hammer with that.”
Fellow leftist, Capitol Hill reporter Melanie Zanona, agreed, noting that Democrats in swing races are facing inflation that is worse than the national average.
“Republicans are really seizing on this,” Zanona said.
“They have spent twice as much on campaign ads as Democrats have, really hammering Democrats over this issue and when you ask Republicans, ‘well, what is your plan inflation,’ they don’t really have a specific answer.”
Twitter users were quick to point out that no one ever said anything like this when Donald Trump was in charge:
Remember when @JohnKingCNN said that governing is hard, COVID-19 was a complex challenge and Donald Trump deserved some grace?
Me neither… https://t.co/Io9XzZOQR9

Maybe they shouldn’t have governed like they had an overwhelming mandate then… https://t.co/Yo7iEJIjaU

He’s right. If Democrats can do this much damage with tiny margins, imagine what they could do with more power! https://t.co/BIAoIcACPG
