China-Compromised NYTimes Suddenly Discovers China’s COVID Censorship

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) After years of defending China’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic and defending falsified scientific data, the New York Times recently published a report claiming they discovered evidence of a Chinese censorship campaign surrounding the possible lab leak.

Reporters published a piece on Sunday revealing their “investigation” into the Chinese government’s actions early in the pandemic and their influence over organizations such as the World Health Organization and other prominent scientific institutions.

According to the Daily Caller, the article did not address the glaring contradiction that the New York Times itself took research from these groups as gospel, echoing narratives pushed by the Chinese Communist Party via WHO, NAIAD and other research groups.

The Times argued that the possibility of COVID originating in a Chinese lab was a “conspiracy theory.” One article compared the lab leak theory to former President George W. Bush alleging that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

Several of the scientists cited in the articles railing against COVID skeptics had conflicts of interest, as they had vested financial interests in the gain of function research taking place at the Wuhan lab. Reserachers Kristian Andersen, Robert Garry and Jeremy Farrar all worked with Dr. Anthony Fauci to mislead the public on the origins of COVID due to their investment in the research.

Another frequent citation for the newspaper was researcher Edward Holmes, who frequently made light of the lab leak theory.

“The Times article also relied heavily on quotes from Edward Holmes, who may well have participated in a coverup of the origins of Covid-19 through his ‘proximal origin’ article. In other words, an awful choice for a person to hang this story around,” said Gary Ruskin, co-founder of U.S. Right to Know. “In some ways, it was a worthy article…But the article didn’t mention how much the U.S. government is doing somewhat similar things — burying data and information about the origins of Covid-19.”

The mainstream media organ also worked tirelessly to link the pandemic to racism, using every opportunity to decry politicians as anti-Asian for being concerned about undue Chinese influence in the U.S.

An increasing amount of evidence suggests that the virus originated in a Wuhan laboratory, though the investigation is ongoing.
