Senate GOP Bombshell Report Cites 2 Lab Leaks at Wuhan as COVID Origin

'China has had every opportunity to disprove all of the reports surrounding the origins of COVID-19, but they have not and will not... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Doubling-down on existing and widely accepted evidence, a new Senate GOP report, aptly titled “Muddy Waters: The Origins of COVID-19,” claimed that the coronavirus most likely started from two lab leaks at China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The deep-dive report from a Senate health committee, which had been conducting its investigation for more than two years, also concluded that the U.S. government was funding gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab that contributed to the outbreak.

“This report concludes most likely this was two leaks,” said Republican Sen. Roger Marshall, an OB-GYN doctor from Kansas and ranking member of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

The report stated that, “Epidemiological and genetic molecular analyses of the early published circulating Wuhan [COVID-19] strains supported the possibility of two spillover events two or more weeks apart.”

Marshall expounded on that in comments to reporters, noting that “the possibility of a lab leak in the September-October [2019] time frame, even as early as July or August, was followed by vaccine development in November 2019. And then another lab leak seems to be the most sensible explanation in this retrospective review.”

By contrast, the report detailed “a significant amount of evidence to disprove the theory” that COVID-19 emerged from a seafood “wet” market.

While acknowledging that the dual lab leaks were likely accidental, the report blistered CCP officials for deliberately and systematically covering-up the initial outbreak, delaying by weeks and possibly months an appropriate response and contributing to an untold number of deaths.

“This report also concludes that the CCP was responding to the coronavirus months before the rest of the world was even aware of its existence, yet China failed to inform the global community of the unfolding disaster,” Marshall said. “This report is a crucial development in getting to the bottom of COVID-19’s true origins and exposing the deception of those that sought to conceal how this pandemic started.”

What was once dismissed by the Biden regime and its fake news collaborators as wild misinformation, the lab leak origin has since been deemed as the most likely culprit by officials from the Energy Department and also FBI chief Christopher Wray.

“We have to understand what happened in order to make sure this never happens again,” Marshall said. “China has had every opportunity to disprove all of the reports surrounding the origins of COVID-19, but they have not and will not.”
