Border Patrol Skeptical of Biden Claiming He Finally ‘Intends’ to Visit

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) President Joe Biden made a statement declaring his intent to visit the southern border since his first time taking office, while he celebrated massive government spending and waste with a press conference to promote his infrastructure agenda at Kentucky’s Brent Spence Bridge.

According to the Daily Wire, Biden said his administration was “working out the details” and expressed hope to see “peace and security” at the border.

Border Patrol agents are not convinced that the president will actually stop by, and if he does, there are doubts concerning the productivity of the meeting.

Biden has not been to the border since 2008, when he drove by it as acting vice president.

”After two years, it is past time Biden come to the border to survey first hand the chaos he created,” National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd said.

“While I expect President Biden will deflect and possibly lie about his failures, similar to what both of his White House Press secretaries have done, I am happy that certain media outlets have attempted to present the truth to the American people and be the watchdogs necessary to bring about positive change, which is undoubtedly the catalyst for this visit,” Judd added.

A record number of illegal aliens crossed the border in the fiscal year of 2022, with Customs and Border Protection recording 2.3 million encounters.

Biden recently dismissed the idea of visiting the border, claiming he had “more important things” to do.

“Hopefully our country will get a positive outcome from the president’s visit, but I won’t hold my breath,” Judd said.

It is possible that Border Patrol officials may clear their facilities ahead of the president’s visit in order to give the appearance of control.

Former DHS Secretary Chad Wolf recommended that Biden go to an overcrowded facility to get a true sense of the chaos at the border, and expressed hope that Border officials will be honest.

“In order to truly understand the depths of the crisis, I encourage the president to visit the overcrowded facilities and engage in real conversations with Border Patrol agents. Under no circumstances should facilities be sanitized or conversations be scripted,” Wolf, who served under the Trump administration, said.
