(John Ransom, Headline USA) A 21-year old woman allegedly stabbed her date in the neck to retaliate for the US assassination of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani in 2020, who was killed in a drone attack at the Baghdad airport.
Nika Nikoubin met the man on an online dating site and then agreed to meet at a Las Vegas-area hotel-casino, Sunset Station, reported the Las Vegas Review Journal.
When the couple engaged in sex, Nikoubin put a blindfold over the man’s face and then proceed to stab him in the neck, after also turning out the lights, according to the police report cited by ABCNews.

The man, “felt a pain on the side of his neck” and pushed Nikoubin off of him, and left the room to call 911, at which point the woman followed the man and told a hotel employee that she had just stabbed a man, according to police.
“She advised that there are injustices, in particular the killing of Qasem Soleimani in Iran,” homeland security detectives added to the Henderson arrest report, said the Las Vegas Review Journal about the motivation for the crime.
“Nikoubin stated she wanted revenge,” the report concluded.
The woman had also told investigators that she had been motivated by a song called “Grave Digger” but a search of the internet reveals multiple songs with that name, the Times of Israel reported.
There is no information about the current status of the victim. But the woman is being held on $60,000 bail for attempted murder and two counts of battery and burglary of a business, said the Review Journal, so presumably the victim is stable.
A tweet from a consultancy specializing in kidnap and ransom risk suggests that the victim was a US veteran. Las Vegas is home to Nellis Air Force Base, which hosts the 489th Attack Squadron which operates the MQ-9 Reaper, the type of drone used to kill Soleimani, although there is no suggestion yet that the attack by Nikoubin, the victim and 489th Attack Squadron are connected.
“General Soleimani and his Quds Force were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service members and the wounding of thousands more,” said the Pentagon in Iraq at the time of the drone strike that killed the top-ranking Iranian general and politician.
The US claimed the general was in Iraq to coordinate further attacks against Americans there.
Nikoubin will be arraigned on March 24 said the Review Journal.
