Biden Decamps in Delaware as Putin Goes Nuclear

'He is right now threatening a nuclear escalation... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) In a stunning display of indifference and ineptitude, President Joe Biden spent the weekend dithering in seclusion at his private home in Delaware, as Russian mob boss Vladimir Putin continued to rampage his military through Ukraine and raised his regime’s nuclear deterrent forces to “special combat readiness.”

And, really, why not? Biden’s campaign strategy of hiding in a basement and talking to potted plants, relying on a friendly leftist media to carry his water, worked good enough to have allegedly won a presidential election.

Maybe somewhere deep in the delusion of his vow for “unity, clarity and conviction” in response to the Ukrainian crisis, Biden imagined decamping to Delaware somehow met one of those standards.

Others are less certain, as Putin continues his aggressive campaign.

“He is right now threatening a nuclear escalation,” former Defense Intelligence Agency officer Rebekah Koffler told Fox News.

“This a veiled threat – or maybe such a veiled threat – he just met with his chief of general staff and minister of defense,” Koffler said.

“He is escalating the conflict into the nuclear domain in order to de-escalate – that is topple Kyiv’s regime quickly.”

That concern was shared by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas Greenfield, who told CBS’ “Face the Nation,” that Putin’s shift of nuclear alert is worrisome.

“It means that President Putin is continuing to escalate this war in a manner that is totally unacceptable and we have to continue to stem his actions in the strongest possible way,” she said.

That Biden would consider spending a weekend cloistered in Delaware “the strongest possible way” to check Putin’s aggression was roundly roasted as yet another example of the commander-in-chief failing to command much of anything.

The criticism started on Friday, when the leader of the free world, faced with a threat to global security, called it quits in time to catch the senior discount for dinner in Delaware.

The optics of Biden abandoning his spot behind the Resolute Desk in the White House, while Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was fighting it out in Kyiv, didn’t go unnoticed.

Biden’s latest display of weakness continued a pattern that has only emboldened Putin, said Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., who also laid blame on partisan Democrat past actions, according to Breitbart.

“I don’t think Vladimir Putin would have moved on Ukraine were it not for the weakness displayed certainly by the Biden administration, but also by the West in general,” Johnson said.

“And I’m certainly hoping that Colonel Vindman, Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, who used Ukraine as a pawn in their impeachment travesty, are also recognizing, reflecting on how they weakened Ukraine, weakened the West, weakened America by the divisive politics that they played,” Johnson said.
