A self-serving, progressive biography of Alexandria Ocasio–Cortez, titled, Take Up Space: The Unprecedented AOC is due out in February according to the Blaze.
“Some of the material in the work will include ‘an essay on the role that her beauty plays in her public perception,’ an ‘analysis of her social media greatest hits,’ ‘an essay on her rare authenticity,’ and comments on ‘how today’s teens see her as the politician of their futures,’” said the Blaze.
The authors are Lisa Miller—a staff writer at New York magazine, former religion columnist for the Washington Post, and former senior editor of Newsweek magazine—along with the editors of New York magazine said Simon and Schuster.
“Also featuring a deep dive on ‘The Squad,’ a lighthearted piece on the ‘total average-ness of her boyfriend,’ as well as informative graphics and illustrations, Take Up Space offers a dynamic and comprehensive look at one of today’s most influential political and cultural icons,” said the book’s webpage.
Amazon currently features at least nine books on AOC (including a coloring book biography), one book for each 3.5 years that AOC has lived.
Despite her fawning attention among elite Manhattanites concerning her style, the Bronx congresswoman’s actual policies have come under fire recently.
AOC and other progressives have recently been at odds with conservatives about measures that AOC favors to reduce bail for criminal defendants.
The issue burst back into public consciousness when a black man out on low bail with 50-page criminal rap sheet allegedly deliberately ran over more than 50 people, killing six, at a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisc., according to the criminal indictments.
“Condemning thousands of individuals to languish in an environment plagued by persistent overcrowding and mounting violence as they await trial is not acceptable and risks violating the federal civil rights of these individuals,” said AOC and two other House members in a letter to New York City’s district attorneys about bail requirements in New York state according to the New York Post.
Similar books previously written about AOC, which feature paste-ups of admiring essays about her, have gotten mixed reviews from readers.
“I thought that this book would be a biography, or autobiography,” said said one Amazon-verified review about AOC: The Fearless Rise and Powerful Resonance of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
“It appears to be just a series of short essays by anyone who ever has had contact with AOC and loves her. It was really a disappointment,” the reviewer added. “I wanted to learn some facts about her life and background and this was essentially nothing but swooning essays from admirers.”
