(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Old videos have resurfaced from Abdul El-Sayed’s social media accounts, including clips in which the far-left Democrat proposed getting rid of the Second Amendment and used the children’s show “Blue’s Clues” to promote his political campaign.
In one of the clips, El-Sayed appeared to suggest that the Constitution be amended to replace the Second Amendment’s right to bear arms with a right to health care.
Footage of the clip was not immediately available on YouTube, but CNN, which first reported on the videos on Aug. 11, said it reviewed transcripts documenting what was said.
The clip is among more than 100 videos previously posted on El-Sayed’s YouTube page when he was an online political activist. He reportedly had more than 17,000 subscribers at the time.
El-Sayed is now the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan ahead of the 2026 midterm elections and is set to face GOP nominee and former Rep. Mike Rogers.
“What if we tweaked the Constitution, amended the amendment, and instead of the right to bear arms, we change it to the right to have health care?” El-Sayed reportedly said in the video.
He made the remarks in the aftermath of a school shooting in Tennessee.
As quoted by CNN, El-Sayed added that abolishing the Second Amendment would mean “fewer people dying by gun and more people living because they have health care.”
In another clip, apparently posted on his Instagram page, El-Sayed made a bizarre pitch to voters by recreating scenes from the popular children’s show Blue’s Clues.
“Blue’s Clues,” a Nickelodeon children’s show that first aired in 1996, follows an animated dog named Blue and its human owner as they find clues and solve puzzles. The program is aimed at preschool-age children.

In the video, El-Sayed mimics the show’s “Mail Time” segment. He sings a version of the show’s theme song while wearing a green striped shirt like the one worn by the show’s original host, Steve.
“Here’s the mail. It never fails. It makes me wanna wag my tail. When it comes, I want to wail mail!” El-Sayed said, awkwardly waving his arms from side to side with the show’s backdrop appearing behind him.
“We just got a letter,” El-Sayed said three times while sitting on the show’s sofa. “I wonder where it’s from!”
After grabbing a letter from Mailbox, the show’s mail-delivery character, El-Sayed said the letter was from the secretary of state and contained his mail-in ballot.
He then used the children’s show format to inform viewers about the deadlines ahead of the Democratic primary, which he ended up winning on Aug. 4.
“Vote-ski-doo. We can too!” El-Sayed later said.
Other resurfaced transcripts show El-Sayed urging Americans to “PLEASE” stop celebrating Independence Day with fireworks. He also said the southern border was not a top priority for Americans and associated football with slavery.
In response to the resurfaced clips, El-Sayed’s campaign claimed the remarks had been “cherry-picked” and do not reflect his beliefs today.
