‘Squad,’ Matt Gaetz Use Taxpayers’ Money to Pay for Their D.C. Apartments, Costly Meals

'LOL, they're all crooks. If you'll notice, in the background of Creepy Matt's steak dinner there's a bottle of Opus One. Look up how much that costs!...'

(Dmytro “Henry” AleksandrovHeadline USA) It was revealed that taxpayers were forced to fund luxury housing accommodations and meals for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., and over 200 other members of Congress, many of whom are millionaires.

Democrats quietly included a provision into internal House rules that grants lawmakers access to an optional $34,000 annual subsidy to pay for their Washington, D.C., housing and meal expenses, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

The House disbursement records indicated that throughout the first half of 2023, the crooked politicians took over $8,700 of the taxpayers’ money to pay for their lodging and meals.

The records also revealed that, in total, 113 Democrats and 104 Republicans have taken advantage of the program, raking in a combined $1.4 million from taxpayers during the first half of 2023.

Among the recipients of these funds were at least 17 millionaire Democrats, like Rep. Katie Porter, D-Calif., who has a net worth of up to $1.8 million, and House Minority Whip Katherine Clark, D-Mass., who has a net worth of up to $13.5 million.

Other Democrats who benefited from stealing money from taxpayers were also Ocasio-Cortez, who rented a luxury apartment in a building with a rooftop pool and indoor golf simulator, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who spent over $14,000 for lodging and meals, and Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., who spent $6,800 on her lodging and meals.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., another “Squad” member, also received $6,200 to pay for his rent and meals. In his latest financial disclosure, Bowman reported that his wife owns a pension valued at over $50 million, even though his office previously informed the Beacon in September of 2023 that the asset is worth just $50,000.

However, it wasn’t only the leftists who stole money from taxpayers. It was revealed that the person who received the largest share of funds out of any lawmaker was Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., who took nearly $17,000 of taxpayers’ money to pay for his living expenses and $6,200 to pay for his meals, an average of over $1,250 per month, from January to May of 2023.

Instead of trying to hide the fact that her husband steals money from Americans, Ginger Gaetz has been constantly bragging on social media about her husband cooking her expensive meals.

When contacted by the news source, the “anti-establishment” politician said that his taxpayer-funded meals are made with discount buy-one-get-one-free products.

“LOL, they’re all crooks. If you’ll notice, in the background of Creepy Matt’s steak dinner there’s a bottle of Opus One. Look up how much that costs!” one person on Twitter wrote, referring to Opus One wine company from Napa Valley, Calif., that currently sells its cheapest bottle for $160.
