(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., opened up about his health during an interview with CBS host Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation.
The Republican leader spoke candidly before deflecting questions concerning rumors about Parkinson’s disease, telling the host to ask about something else.

“People wonder about your health, how are you feeling? How are you doing?” Brennan asked McConnell in the interview that aired on Sunday. McConnell initially reassured, “I’m fine. I’m completely recovered, and I’m just fine.”
Brennan then asked McConnell whether there was “anything the public should know that wasn’t disclosed.” However, when pressed further about the incidents where he appeared to freeze during press briefings, McConnell claimed, “I’m in good shape, completely recovered and back on the job.”

Undeterred, Brennan pressed for more information. “So does that mean that you think you are able to continue serving, and you want to continue serving here at a time when we are talking about incredible dysfunction in Washington?” she pressed.
In response, McConnell urged Brennan to focus on other topics. “I think we ought to be talking about what we were talking about earlier, rather than my health,” he declared.
Brennan’s questions emerged following two incidents that raised questions about McConnell’s physical condition. The most recent incident occurred on August 30, following a previous unsettling occurrence in July, during which McConnell was escorted from a press conference
Senate Republicans held a special meeting to discuss McConnell’s future as their leader. However, in response to mounting speculation, McConnell previously released a doctor’s statement ruling out the presence of Parkinson’s disease or stroke.
