Mitt Romney Professes Love of Weiners in 30-Sec. Video

‘Crazy that this was the GOP before Trump...’

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) A 30-second video has surfaced showing Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, declaring his undying love for hot dogs.

The video, shared by Romney’s team on his social media, quickly went viral, leaving critics perplexed and wondering whether Romney is spending time on the wrong issues.

“As you all know, today it’s National Hot Dog Day,” an oddly looking Romney began with enthusiasm. “And perhaps you also know that hot dog is my favorite meat. I love hot dog, I love them in buns, I love them outside of buns. I love them with baked beans. I just like hot dogs.”

Romney further displayed his love for weiners, referring to them as “the best mean there is, without question.”

As National Hot Dog Day was a national holiday, Romney concluded the video by saying, “To all of you who like me are celebrating National Hot Dog Day, congratulations to you and may there be many, many more hot dogs served in our wonderful land.”

The video, while innocent in nature, stirred fiery reactions from Romney’s Twitter followers, with several accusing the Utah senator of focusing on the wrong issues.

Trent Staggs, the mayor of Riverton, Utah, commented, “Mitt Romney’s go-to is silence. On sending troops to Ukraine? Silence. On continued weaponization of the justice department? Silence. We’re thrilled to at least know where he stands on hot dogs, though.”

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., took to Twitter to react to the video, asking whether it was generated by artificial intelligence.

Political commentator Logan Hall chimed in, saying, “crazy that this was the GOP before trump. dude singlehandedly took their party off life support.”

Conservative journalist Emerald Robinson echoed Gaetz’s and Staggs’s remarks, saying, “While America collapses, Senator Pierre Delecto does effeminate videos celebrating hot dogs — when did he get a full frontal lobotomy?”

Even the Daily Caller called out the strange video by publishing an editorial headlined, “Mitt Romney Spends Way Too Long Telling America How Much He Loves Weiners.”

The article’s author, Kay Smythe, joked, “Romney addressed the video to ‘all those celebrating’ National Hot Dog Day, which is apparently all of us (I did not get a staff email about this).”
