(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Former Attorney General Bill Barr has vociferously voiced his opposition to the idea of former President Donald Trump serving time in prison.
In a recent interview on CBS’s Face the Nation, Barr criticized Trump’s alleged conduct, particularly regarding the Biden administration’s indictment related to mishandling classified documents.
However, Barr pushed back when questioned about whether Trump should be sent to federal prison.
“We haven’t even reached the point of determining his conviction or the appropriate sentence. I am personally uncomfortable with the notion of a former president being incarcerated,” Barr responded.
While Barr offered a partial defense of Trump, he did not hold back in his critique, stating, “Although he has been unfairly targeted in the past, it does not excuse the fact that he is fundamentally flawed and engages in reckless behavior that leads to disastrous situations like this.”
Trump removed Barr from his inner circles following the attorney general’s failure to thoroughly investigate allegations of voter irregularities in the 2020 election.
Just last week, Trump took to Truth Social to express his disdain for Barr, labeling him a “Gutless Pig” and urging his supporters to boycott Fox News whenever Barr appears.
Barr’s recent comments against Trump have generated criticism from prominent conservative figures. Author and Fox News host Mark Levin denounced Barr, alleging he has been spreading venom on every left-leaning media Sunday show.
Bill Barr has been on every leftwing media Sunday show spewing his poison. He has smeared Trump more than he has ever criticized the worse drug dealers, arms dealers, international terrorists, terrorist states, or the Biden crime family and the millions of dollars they received…

Levin further accused Barr of smearing Trump more than criticizing notorious drug dealers, arms dealers, international terrorists, terrorist states, or the Biden family and their alleged financial ties with adversaries, including communist China.
Fact check: The courts disagree with Mr. Barr on "presidential records." And so has the Obama Justice Department. See, for example, Clinton sock drawer case:
