(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Tesla owner Elon Musk took to Twitter to mock Vice President Kamala Harris over allegations that she is being named the “AI czar,” (the White House’s artificial intelligence expert).
Responding to a tweet from Amjad Masad, the CEO of an AI-related technology company, on whether Musk wanted late mathematician John von Neumann to regulate AI, Musk said, “Von Neumann … would obviously be a bridge too far, but maybe someone who can fix their own wifi router wouldn’t be too much to ask.”

Elon’s tweet quickly gained traction, reaching more than 2 million views. The famed Twitter owner mentioned Von Neumann, who was a Hungarian physicist and mathematician born in Hungary, famously known as one of the pioneers of computer science, according to Fox Business.
Earlier this month, Harris was tapped to lead a budget of $140 million on AI innovation and regulation.
Musk previously reacted to the news via Twitter with a simple, “Really?”

Harris had faced previous criticism from several conservatives for failing several national agendas, most notably handling the border crisis in 2021. Two years later, the Biden administration is still grappling with unlawful border crossings, particularly as the Trump-era Title 42 immigration policy is set to expire this week.
The embattled vice president, along with President Joe Biden, met with executives from Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic and Google to assess the potential risks of the rapidly growing AI.
Harris, citing her experience investigating the alleged debunked Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, warned that state actors could use the technology to “undermine democracy.”
“As a United States Senator and member of the Intelligence and Judiciary Committees, we investigated Russian interference in the 2016 election and produced empirical evidence that state actors will use technology to undermine democracy,” she claimed in reaction to the May 4 meeting, adding that AI companies had “an ethical, moral and legal responsibility to ensure the safety and security of their products.”

Several tech experts, including Musk, have raised the alarm about the dangers AI could pose to humanity. Just last month, Musk met with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., to discuss AI regulation.
