NYC Mayor: Sending Illegals to Big Cities is RACIST

It is 'impossible to ignore the fact that Abbott is now targeting five cities run by [b]lack mayors...'

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) New York City’s far-left mayor, Eric Adams, recently declared that sending illegal immigrants to the Big Apple and other black-run cities was racist, the Daily Caller reported.

Adams has regularly complained about the influx of illegals under the Biden administration’s open-borders policies, despite insisting New York was a so-called sanctuary city.

On Monday, he released a statement accusing Texas Gov. Greg Abbott of racism for busing migrants to big cities.

“This weekend, we learned that Governor Abbott is once again deciding to play politics with people’s lives by resuming the busing of asylum seekers to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, and Washington, D.C.,” Adams wrote.

The mayors of all five cities are currently black, although Denver Mayor Michael Hancock is expected soon to cede control to a white candidate pending the outcome of the city’s municipal runoff election. Los Angeles’s newly elected mayor, Karen Bass, took over from a white fellow Democrat, Eric Garcetti.

Nonetheless, Adams went on to accuse Abbott of immorality for defending his state from Biden’s disastrous border policies, which is expected to become worse next week with the expiration of the pandemic-era Title 42 protections.

“Not only is this behavior morally bankrupt and devoid of any concern for the well-being of asylum seekers, but it is also impossible to ignore the fact that Abbott is now targeting five cities run by [b]lack mayors,” Adams said.

“Put plainly, Abbott is using this crisis to hurt [b]lack-run cities,” he added.

Abbott, along with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, made a splash by sending immigrants to wealthy leftist enclaves last year to reveal how opposed to illegal immigration such people really are when they have to deal with the consequences.

But Abbott is blameworthy for busing illegal immigrants to New York “against their will,” even accusing the Texas Gov. of using security guards to “hold them hostage on busses [sic],” Adams claimed.

“Despite Abbott’s inhumane actions, New York City will continue to do all it can to handle this influx,” he continued, “but this crisis is more than one city can handle.”

Adams was following the lead of out-going Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who recently stated that Chicago is unable to support the influx of illegal immigrants.

“We have shouldered the responsibility of caring for more than 8,000 men, women, and children with no resources of their own,” she wrote.
