Uh Oh: Eric Adams Threatens to Send Busload of New Yorkers to Texas

(Tony Sifert, Headline USA) New York Democrat Mayor Eric Adams has threatened to send busloads of New Yorkers to Texas to campaign against Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in response to the governor’s successful attempt to get coastal elites to notice illegal immigration, according to the Daily Caller.

“I already called all of my friends in Texas and told them how to cast their vote,” Adams told reporters during a press conference.

“I am deeply contemplating taking a busload of New Yorkers to go to Texas and do some good old-fashioned door-knocking, because for the good of America we have to get [Abbott] out of office.”

Adams’ apparent jest came in response to the arrival in New York of another busload of at least 68 illegal immigrants who had crossed the southern border into Texas.

The Texas governor began bussing immigrants to New York in early August as part of what his office described as strategic response “to the Biden Administration’s open border policies overwhelming Texas communities.”

Adams’ attempt at humor fell flat, an Abbott spokesman noted, due to the fact that New Yorkers are already fleeing the state’s leftist tax regime and finding refuge in red states like Texas and Florida.

“Because of high taxes, out of control crime, and poor leadership by the Mayor, people are volunteering to leave New York City without the Mayor asking,” campaign spokesperson Mark Miner told Fox News Digital.

Abbott press secretary Renae Eze encouraged Adams to call on President Biden to secure the country’s southern border.

“If the mayor wants a solution to this crisis, he should call on President Biden to take immediate action to secure the border—something the President continues failing to do,” Eze said.

“The Biden Administration is allowing historic levels of illegal immigrants, weapons, and deadly drugs like fentanyl to surge into our state and dumping migrants in our border towns with little to no help provided.”
