Conservative Talkshow Host Larry Elder Launches Presidential Run

'I feel I have a moral, a religious and a patriotic duty to give back to a country that’s been so good to my family and to me...'

(Dmytro “Henry” AleksandrovHeadline USA) Conservative talk show host Larry Elder announced on Thursday night that he will run for president in 2024 as a Republican.

During his appearance on Fox News’s Tucker Carlson Tonight, Elder, who is about to turn 71 years old next week, announced that he is running for president of the United States, according to the Daily Wire.

To convince conservatives why they should vote for him and not other 2024 Republican presidential candidates, Elder stated that he is pro-life, doesn’t believe America is racist, wants secure borders, wants the U.S. to be energy independent and wants to fix the inner-city schools.

“I’m announcing that I’m running for the presidency of the United States on your program,” Elder said. “And thank you so much for giving me this honor and this platform.”

Elder said that the reason why he wanted to run for president is that he never served in the military, while his father, older brother and little brother all served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

“I’m the only one who didn’t serve, and I don’t feel good about that,” Elder said. “I feel I have a moral, a religious and patriotic duty to give back to a country that’s been so good to my family and to me. And that is why I’m doing this.”

He also added that among the top issues driving him were fighting the lie that was spread by Democrats that America is inherently racist and addressing how a lot of black children grow up without fathers because Democrats have “incentivized women to marry the government.”

In 2021, Elder ran against Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom to replace him because people decided to recall the latter. Among the multiple reasons why they decided to do it was Newsom’s tyrannical handling of coronavirus, which many residents of California labeled disastrous. Even though the Californians despised the governor and that Elder came in first among dozens of replacement candidates, receiving over 3.5 million votes, Newsom still managed to win by beating the recall attempt by more than 20 points.
