Karin Jean-Pierre Caught Lying about Florida Anti-Grooming Law

'It's red herrings all the way down...'

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) White House press secretary Karine Jean–Pierre has been caught in a lie regarding Florida’s recently-passed anti-grooming law, Fox News reported.

Specifically, Jean–Pierre called into question the Florida Board of Education’s recent expansion of the Parental Rights in Education law, which was championed by the state’s Republican governor, Ron DeSantis.

She falsely characterized the law as the “dystopian Don’t Say Gay law,” which would, according to her, prohibit all discussion of lesbians or gays in the classroom.

“As this measure takes effect, it will prohibit all students up to seniors in high school from learning about our, or, learning about or even discussing LGBTQI+ people in the classrooms,” Jean-Pierre said.

She also claimed that teachers have had their licenses threatened by the state due to their sexual orientation.

“Teachers in Florida have already faced the devastating consequences of the existing law,” Jean-Pierre said. “Under threat of having their licenses revoked, gay teachers have been forced to take down pictures of their spouses from their desks and censor their classroom materials.”

According to the press secretary, conservatives—particularly “MAGA extremists”—are as guilty of participating in cancel culture as are those on the radical Left.

“Censoring our classes is not how public education is supposed to work in a free country,” she said. “Conservative politicians love to complain about the so-called cancel culture, all while threatening teachers with losing their jobs if they teach something that the MAGA extremists don’t agree with.”

Jean–Pierre was grilled on Twitter for her mischaracterization. Some noted that her claims were all “easily disprovable lies” which are “red herrings all the way down.”

Others pointed out the absurdity of what Jean-Pierre wants to happen in classrooms—discussions of personal sexual orientation and activity.
