Another ‘Squad’ Member Investigated for Violating Ethics Rules

'These violations are disturbing and clearly not how members are supposed to be using official resources... '

(Corine GattiHeadline USA) Far-left Democrat Squad members have once again demonstrated a prevailing disdain for rules and laws that they expect others to follow, but disregard with blatant contempt.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics on Wednesday over Minnesota Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar’s wrongful use of TikTok, the Washington Examiner reported. Omar was improperly leveraging the popular platform on her government device, the complaint alleged, despite the U.S. House of Representatives banning the app from official devices.

“Rep. Omar has continued to use the same TikTok account for both official House and political purposes — a clear violation of House Ethics rules,” FACT said in its press release.

The group listed examples of what the radical activist was doing.

Omar “has posted overtly political content, including a video of her urging viewers to support Democrat candidates, a message to Democrats volunteering for campaigns, and several videos of her campaigning and attending campaign events,” the watchdog noted.

The press release said that “Along with this political content, she has also made posts that used official government resources, including C-Span footage from the House floor, what appears to be a cell phone video recorded on the House floor,” adding, “and an interview from what appears to be her House office.”

“These violations are disturbing and clearly not how members are supposed to be using official resources,” FACT Executive Director Kendra Arnold said in the release.

“The law is abundantly clear, and her account and the content posted speak for themselves. These rules are to protect the time, resources, and integrity of official proceedings for those in elected office.”

Omar joins the ranks of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who is also in the hot seat.

The Heritage Foundation this week requested an ethics investigation against AOC for defaming Chaya Raichik, the creator of the popular “Libs of TikTok” account. The Foundation believes Ocasio-Cortez knowingly and intentionally accused Raichik of lying and spreading false information, violating the House’s ethics code.

AOC showed surprising support for ByteDance, the parent company of the social media platform TikTok, after it donated $150,000 to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in December.

Four members of the Squad in Congress, including Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, have over 453,000 followers on TikTok. Bowman let slip the real reason Democrats are defending TikTok, despite national security concerns.

“So if the Democratic Party is a part of shutting down a platform that they have used to build community … it can harm us politically in 2024,” Bowman told NBC.
