Sen. Cruz Shames DHS Sec. Mayorkas for Abetting Rapes, Deaths of Illegal Immigrants

'You made the decision to allow this!'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, started a heated exchange with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing discussing the crisis at the southern border.

Cruz eviscerated Mayorkas after the latter admitted that he and the Biden administration were responsible for the massive spike in illegal immigration, which they previously attempted to blame on former President Donald Trump, according to the Daily Wire.

“Let’s look at CBP encounters … it drops to the lowest level. Then boom, what happens? You show up!” Cruz said. “And that red line is you! That red line is Joe Biden! And you’re claiming nothing happened, oh gosh, this was here before us. No! You made the decision to allow this!”

Mayorkas also confessed that he had no idea how many migrants died in their attempt to cross the border.

“Of course you don’t! I know how many died, 853!” Cruz replied angrily. “You go back to 1998, you see it’s consistently between 300 to 400… Suddenly 2021. What happens? You get in office!”

Cruz continued, calling Mayorkas’ behavior “disgraceful” and pointing out that he is responsible for the deaths, rapes and assaults taking place at the border.

He also defended Customs and Border Patrol officers.

“The men and women of the Border Patrol, they’ve never had a political leader undermine them,” Cruz continued. “They despise you, Mr. Secretary, because you’re willing to let children be raped to follow political orders. This is a crisis. It’s a disgrace. And you won’t even admit this human tragedy as it is crisis.”

Mayorkas declined to respond to Cruz’s observations, calling them “revolting.”

“Your refusal to do your job is revolting,” Cruz responded.

The situation at the border continues to worsen, with the Biden administration either turning a blind eye to the problem or blaming Republican politicians for the issue.

An estimated 5.5 million migrants have entered the country illegally since Biden took office, some with the encouragement and support of activist open-borders organisations, and even the American Red Cross. Towns along the border have been thrown into chaos as they attempt to house thousands of illegals.
