Chris Christie Says Trump to Be Indicted before Debates Begin

'I think it’s impossible for them not to make the situation worse...'

(Ezekiel Loseke, Headline USA) Chris Christie, the former governor of New Jersey and former ally of President Trump, said Trump would probably be indicted before the 2024 Presidential debates.

Christie gave his thoughts on different possible scenarios, according to Breitbart News.

“I think in terms of the likelihood of indictment, I’d put New York first, the Special Counsel second, Georgia third,” he said on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show on Wednesday. “I think the most likely place it will happen is New York. And I think it’s the least harmful matter to him,” he said.

“I think that Letitia James has made it clear that she’s a political prosecutor, and that’s what she wants to do, and that she promised during the campaign, that she was going to go get Donald Trump. I think she probably will.”

Christie twice stated that James’s case is weak, and that it wouldn’t do much harm to Trump. The more troublesome case comes from the special counsel hunting Trump, Christie said.

Christie said that he expected the special counsel would probably act against President Trump by July. If that’s the case, Hewitt asked Christie to expound upon the complications of the indictments upon the elections.

“Can someone run for office and do debates and give interviews when they’re under indictment and not make their situation worse?” Hewitt asked.

“No, I think it’s impossible for them not to make the situation worse,” Christie said.

“I don’t know that he’d make his situation markedly worse,” he said. “But every time you open your mouth, as you know in this kind of situation, you run the real risk of it adding complications to a case where you could lose your liberty.”
