Zuckerberg Frees Trump from Meta Gulag

'In the event that Mr. Trump posts further violating content, the content will be removed and he will be suspended... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, formerly known as Facebook, will reinstate former President Donald Trump to the platform after an approximately two-year suspension, Breitbart reported.

Trump was infamously suspended by the major social media companies–Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube–in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill rally.

But now Meta’s president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, announced earlier this month that Trump would be permitted to return “in the coming weeks.” But also added that the former President would be subject to “new guardrails in place to deter repeat offenses.”

Per Clegg, the company sees it as its public duty to curate what political content is permitted on its platform.

The “guardrails” will include “heightened penalties for repeat offenses — penalties which will apply to other public figures whose accounts are reinstated from suspensions related to civil unrest under our updated protocol.”

Further, Trump could face repeated suspensions, depending on the nature of his “violation.”

“In the event that Mr. Trump posts further violating content, the content will be removed and he will be suspended for between one month and two years, depending on the severity of the violation,” Clegg added.

The former president took to his own social media platform, Truth Social, to mock Facebook for its financial struggles that have largely emerged due to its censorship policies.

“FACEBOOK, which has lost Billions of Dollars in value since ‘deplatforming’ your favorite President, me, has just announced that they are reinstating my account,” Trump wrote, noting that he is more than satisfied with his own platform.

“Such a thing should never again happen to a sitting President, or anybody else who is not deserving of retribution! THANK YOU TO TRUTH SOCIAL FOR DOING SUCH AN INCREDIBLE JOB. YOUR GROWTH IS OUTSTANDING, AND FUTURE UNLIMITED!!!”
