DOJ Won’t Share Info on Probe into Biden Document Scandal

'Consistent with longstanding policy and practice, any oversight requests must be weighed against the Department’s interests in protecting the integrity of its work...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) In a letter to the House Judiciary Committee, Biden’s Department of Justice announced that they will not be sharing any information discovered in their investigation into the classified documents in President Joe Biden’s possession.

Several batches of documents from Biden’s days as vice president were located at his private home and a private office. An investigation by the DOJ is ongoing, with former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur placed in charge as special counsel.

“Consistent with longstanding policy and practice, any oversight requests must be weighed against the Department’s interests in protecting the integrity of its work,” the DOJ said in a letter to Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH).

“Longstanding Department policy prevents us from confirming or denying the existence of pending investigations in response to congressional requests or providing non-public information about our investigations.”

According to the Daily Wire, the House Committee responded to the letter via Twitter, asking “why’s DOJ scared to cooperate with our investigations?”

The DOJ’s response allegedly came after a request from Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, “demanded documents and communications about a cache of classified documents found at Biden’s former office at a think tank in Washington and his Wilmington home.”

The House Committee prodded the DOJ with several questions over the course of the investigation.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy pointed out that Biden sent several lawyers to clean out his Penn Biden Center office, as opposed to his general staff.

“Somebody else knew the documents were there all along. Otherwise, why would the attorneys even look?” McCarthy asked. “Whoever hires lawyers to be movers?”

The DOJ avoided assigning FBI agents to search Biden’s home, arguing that it would “overcomplicate” the investigation.

It was found that Hunter Biden, who is implicated in a number of crimes and has ties to China and Ukraine via shady business dealings, lived in the president’s residence while the documents were kept on the premises.

Biden himself responded to the scandal, saying questions about the scandal “quite frankly bugs” him.

“We’re fully cooperating, looking forward to getting this resolved quickly,” Biden claimed. “I think you’re gonna find there’s nothing there. I have no regrets. I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do — that’s exactly what we’re doing. There’s no there, there.”
