(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wasted no time reaching out to new House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., with a request for more foreign aid.
Congratulations to @GOPLeader on his election as the Speaker of 🇺🇸 House of Representatives. U.S. support in all fields has been vital for 🇺🇦’s success on the battlefield. We’re counting on your continued support and further U.S. assistance to bring our common victory closer.

“Congratulations to @GOPLeader on his election as the Speaker of the House of Representatives,” the Ukrainian politician said almost immediately after McCarthy was voted in.
“U.S. support in all fields has been vital for [Ukraine’s] success on the battlefield,” he continued. “We’re counting on your continued support and further U.S. assistance to bring our common victory closer.”
Zelenskyy did not mention that he managed to secure over $100 billion in taxpayer funds from the U.S. already—although McCarthy, who helped approve the most recent omnibus spending package that allocated nearly half of that aid was, no doubt, aware of that already.
According to the Post Millennial, the United States sent $54 billion to the embattled European nation since February, with another $47 billion on the way as part of an omnibus spending bill.
In his recent address to Congress, Zelenskyy thanked the U.S. politicians for sending exorbitant amounts of taxpayer funds to fight his war, but he ended his speech by saying the massive sum had not been enough.
In living up to his word, Zelenskyy confirmed his role as an “ungrateful international welfare queen,” in the words of Donald Trump Jr.
Billions of dollars worth of funding has disappeared into the ether after being sent to the Eastern European country, with the State Department publicly admitting that it had made little effort to track or audit the spending.
There are several questions, however, about whether the all money has been directed to the war effort, or if Ukraine may be the middle man in a massive money-laundering operation to redirect funds to Democrat causes and candidates.
Federal employees are believed to be hiding information about George Soros’s involvement by redacting the names of organizations to which he is suspected to have connections.
Cryptocurrency company FTX, whose disgraced ex-CEO Sam Bankman–Fried was the second biggest Democrat donor in 2022 after Soros, also received funds from Ukraine for financial “consulting” services—a role similar to that which Hunter Biden maintained while on the board of the country’s biggest energy company, Burisma.
It is likely that McCarthy benefitted from these funds while attempting to secure his bid for speaker of the House.
Bankman–Fried is known to have given $45,000 last cycle to the National Republican Congressional Committee, which is considered to be House Republicans’ primary fundraising arm.
However, in order to secure the role, McCarthy insisted that he would not hand a “blank check” to Ukraine and was considering slashing their budget significantly.
McCarthy won the speaker’s gavel on Saturday after 15 rounds of votes.
