(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Miami’s Republican mayor, Francis Suarez, on Wednesday issueed an appeal for Twitter CEO Elon Musk to move his new company the south Florida city from its current headquarters in San Francisco, Axios reported.
“[I]t’s Time to move @Twitter headquarters to Miami,” he tweeted at Musk. “It’s not about politics, it’s about the soul of our country.”

Per a Los Angeles Times report from last May, Suarez said that Twitter and Miami share common interests.
“We’d love to have Twitter here,” Suarez said. “We think what he is trying to accomplish with Twitter dovetails very nicely with the brand of the city of Miami.”
Florida has been among the top beneficiaries of a mass exodus from blue states, including California and Texas, which gained even further steam in the COVID-19 lockdowns, during which Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis pledged to keep his state open for business.
Musk, a red-pilled ex-liberal who endorsed Republicans in the 2022 midterm elections, has said he supports DeSantis as his top choice in the 2024 presidential race. He previously relocated the headquarters of his electric car company, Tesla, from California to Texas, citing the Golden State’s excessive taxes and regulations.
Outraged over Musk’s conservative-friendly free-speech policies, San Francisco city officials threatened to harass Musk for having napping spaces at the Twitter headquarters, claiming Musk had converted the spaces into “motel rooms for workers to live in,” according to an online complaint reported by USA Today.
“Everyone in San Francisco deserves a safe place to live, work, play and sleep and no one is above the law,” said Patrick Hannan, communications director for the San Francisco Department of Buildings Inspection.
Musk responded Tuesday, slamming San Francisco’s far-left mayor, London Breed while noting that the city has failed miserably in addressing its serious drug epidemic, which recently threatened the life of a toddler playing in a city park.

Musk also has expressed concerns for his personal safety in the wake of a series of releases called the “Twitter Files.” He said he was concerned that the bombshell revelations may lead to assassination attempts—due, in particular, to information that pertains to Hunter Biden’s abandonned laptop, which Twitter helped censor prior to the 2020 election.
“Frankly, the risk of something bad happening to me, or even literally being shot, is quite significant,” Musk said. “I’m definitely not going to be doing any open-air car parades, let me put it that way.”
Despite the security concerns, Musk delivered the second round of Twitter Files on Thursday via independent journalist Bari Weiss.
“It’s not that hard to kill me, if somebody wanted to,” Musk said.
“Hopefully, they don’t,” he continued. “I’m taking reasonable precautions, I guess, but there’s definitely some risk here.”
