Beto Burned Loads of Dem. Loot in Latest Loss

'I don’t know what my role or yours will be going forward, but I’m in this fight for life... '

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke wasted about $66 million in donations from Democrats in his 11-point loss to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, bringing his total losses in failed campaigns to $164 million.

O’Rourke has lost three elections in three consecutive election cycles, yet Democrats continue to fund him and praise him, The Federalist reported.

In 2018, O’Rourke lost the U.S. Senate race in Texas to incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican, despite raising a record-breaking $80 million. Cruz won by less than 3%.

Then in 2020, Beto launched a long-shot bid for president because he felt he was “born to be in” the campaign. His campaign raised more than $18 million—and he even scored the highest first-day fundraising total at $6.1 million—but he suspended his run in 2019 as support fizzled.

Having lost races for the two highest offices in the United States, O’Rourke tried to gain the highest office in Texas.

Abbott easily defeated O’Rourke, who campaigned on gun confiscation, open borders and climate change alarmism.

In the last six years, O’Rourke has campaigned 1,175 out of 2,048 days, the Washington Post reported. The same paper said his 2022 loss “embodies Democrats’ unrealized gains.”

O’Rourke has run for office eight times in Texas. Yet the Beto For Texas campaign raised almost half of its funds from out of state.

After losing the governor’s race, O’Rourke promised during his concession speech to remain in politics in some capacity.

“I don’t know what my role or yours will be going forward, but I’m in this fight for life,” O’Rourke said on Tuesday.

A Wikipedia troll edited the “Electoral history of Beto O’Rourke” page to include this summary: “He lost his THIRD attempt at office, the Texas Governors mansion, last night by a fairly large margin. But rest assured folks he will be back to fail yet again at running for another office in 2 more years!”
