Trump Sues Biden Regime over Mar-a-Lago Raid, Demands Special Master Review of FBI Docs

'This Mar-a-Lago Break-In, Search, and Seizure was illegal and unconstitutional, and we are taking all actions necessary to get the documents back... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Former president Donald Trump on Monday filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration for violating his Fourth Amendment rights with its militarized raid on his Mar-a-Lago home, while also demanding that the FBI’s review of material recovered in what he called a “shockingly aggressive move” be stopped until a special master can be appointed to review the documents.

“Politics cannot be allowed to impact the administration of justice,” the lawsuit stated, claiming that Trump “is the clear frontrunner” for a 2024 GOP presidential run, adding “Beyond that, his endorsement in the 2022 mid-term elections has been decisive for Republican candidates.”

Trump’s filing was made the same day as reliably leftist Judge Bruce Reinhart conceded that the raid he authorized warrants for was “unprecedented” and signaled that selective snippets of its affidavit should be unsealed.

Trump’s lawsuit addressed that possibility, and shot it down for a variety of reasons:

“Even as the Government has dug in against transparency in the instant matter, fighting release of the Affidavit and claiming a redacted version would be ‘worthless’ due to the need to hide the actual substance of the sworn statement, there are significant red flags that implicate President Trump’s Fourth Amendment rights and cry out for judicial intervention by way of Special Master monitoring and discovery assistance.”

That need is particularly acute because government “leaks to favored media outlets have provided ever-changing, and inaccurate, ‘justifications’ for the politicized conduct of the FBI and Department of Justice,” according to the suit.

The lawsuit also ripped the FBI for seizing certain privileged documents, including two of Trump’s passports, in violation of unreasonable searches and seizures, and ordered government agents to return items that were taken outside the search warrant’s scope.

“President Trump, like all citizens, is protected by the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution,” the lawsuit stated. “Property seized in violation of his constitutional rights must be returned forthwith.”

The case was assigned to Judge Aileen M. Cannon, a Trump appointee, of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, reported Breitbart.

In a statement issued after the filings, Trump blistered the DOJ for launching a political hit job that he called “the unnecessary, unwarranted, and unAmerican Break-In by dozens of FBI agents, and others, of my home.”

In addition to calling for a special master review, Trump said he is “demanding that the DOJ be forced to turn over a REAL, without ‘plants,’ inventory of my property that was taken and disclose where that property is now located.”

Trump’s statement continued:

The wrongful, overbroad warrant was signed by a Magistrate Judge who recused himself just two months ago, from a MAJOR civil suit that I filed, because of his bias and animus toward me.

This Mar-a-Lago Break-In, Search, and Seizure was illegal and unconstitutional, and we are taking all actions necessary to get the documents back, which we would have given to them without the necessity of the despicable raid of my home, so that I can give them to the National Archives until they are required for the future Donald J. Trump Presidential Library and Museum.

I will never stop fighting for the American people, our Country, and the Rule of Law.
