Beto O’Rourke Gets $1M from George Soros to Flip Texas Blue

'Everywhere Soros-backed prosecutors go, crime follows...'

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Activist, skateboarder and aspiring politician Beto O’Rourke, who has made a name for himself by pretending to be anti-Establishment, accepted a donation of $1 million from globalist oligarch George Soros, The Blaze reported.

Following his failed senatorial and presidential runs, the former El Paso congressman secured the Democratic nomination to challenge Texas’s incumbent Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in the latter’s re-election bid this November.

Though Abbott holds a solid lead in most polls, O’Rourke has made up considerable ground in the raising of campaign funds, much of it through donations that originated outside the deep-red state.

With the addition of $1 million from Soros, O’Rourke’s campaign raised $27.6 million between February and June—$2.7 million more than the Abbott campaign.

Still, Abbott possesses $45.7 million in cash, while O’Rourke has a mere $23.9 million to spend on the election.

Making matters worse for O’Rourke, in a recent CBS/YouGov poll, researchers found that Abbott holds a 49%–41% edge.

O’Rourke first rose to national prominence by challenging longtime Texas’s Republican Sen. Ted Cruz in 2018. Since then, the leftist mainstream media has fawned over the failed candidate as a potential rising star in the Democrat Party.

Of course, his obvious connections with Soros will not help him maintain the grassroots image that he has tried so hard to cultivate.

Among other affronts to democracy, the Hungarian-born ex-Nazi collaborator has been surreptitiously funding the campaigns of radical district attorneys across the United States who oppose punishing criminals for most offenses.

“Everywhere Soros-backed prosecutors go, crime follows,” Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said last year, according to the New York Post.

“These legal arsonists have abandoned their duty to public safety by pursuing leniency even for the most heinous crime, and they often flat-out refuse to charge criminals for shoplifting, vagrancy and entire categories of misdemeanors,” he added.
