George Soros Spent $40M to Elect Horde of Leftist Prosecutors, Sent Crime Rates Soaring

'Everywhere Soros-backed prosecutors go, crime follows... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin, currently facing recall by an enraged public, is one of the swarm of radical, leftist prosecutors that billionaire George Soros has spent upwards of $40 million to put into office on a national level.

The Soros-backed prosecutors — 75 of them — share a common zealousness for so-called “social justice” reforms, which have included lax sentencing for violent thugs, eliminating cash bail, ignoring drug crimes and coddling repeat offenders, and have rooted those policies in cities where “jailings have plummeted and crime has surged,” according to the Washington Examiner.

An analysis that the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund provided to the Examiner showed that “a decade of spending has put Soros prosecutors in enough big cities that they represent 1 in 5 people, or about 72 million. That includes about half of America’s 50 most populous cities and counties where 40% of U.S. homicides occur.”

The same jurisdictions that have been infected with Soros-tainted prosecutors also reported more than a third of all violent and property crime last year, the LELDF report showed.

In addition to Boudin, other high-profile Soros-backed prosecutors, most who have been embattled with ethics charges, plummeting popularity and voter recalls, include Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, disgraced St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner, L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón and Chicago prosecutor Kim Foxx, who was accused of misconduct during the Jussie Smollett hoax case.

“Everywhere Soros-backed prosecutors go, crime follows,” Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said last year.

“These legal arsonists have abandoned their duty to public safety by pursuing leniency even for the most heinous crime, and they often flat-out refuse to charge criminals for shoplifting, vagrancy and entire categories of misdemeanors.”

Soros has used “a series of shell organizations, affiliates, and pass-through committees  to steer contributions to both candidates and his robust support network for progressive prosecutors,” the report showed, dropping $40 million in the process.

“Crime and violence surged following the election of many of these reform prosecutors,” the report noted.

“And critically, the rise in most of these prosecutors’ jurisdictions predates the nation-wide 2020 crime spike.”

Those numbers and the surge of violence and crime they represent have not endeared Soros and his leftist posse of prosecutors to law enforcement.

“Soros is using that campaign money and the hundreds of millions more for supporting organizations to quietly transform the criminal justice system for the worse, promoting dangerous policies and anti-police narratives to advance his radical agenda,” LELDF President Jason Johnson told the Examiner.

“Over the past decade, George Soros has spent $40 million to elect 75 of his chosen prosecutors,” Johnson said, noting that in some campaigns Soros accounted for “as much as 90% of the dollars spent in some races.”

“Soros isn’t done yet,” Johnson warned.

“He’s already spent another million so far this year on his hand-picked district attorneys.”
