Biden Staffers Fear He Could Make Things Worse by Tackling Inflation

'It’s a policy that would get you very little and make a lot of people very mad... '

(Pamela Cosel, Headline USA)  It’s not a secret that Joe Biden’s approval numbers have been dropping steadily over many months. Now his own Democrat allies are concerned his recent talk about reducing inflation takes attention away from their leftist agendas.

His own press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, doesn’t seem to know how bad the country’s economy really is. This week she attempted to convince reporters that Russia’s Vladimir Putin is responsible for Bidenflation, while absurdly touting numbers to say the U.S. economy is the strongest it’s been in history, reported Blaze Media.

“Because … when you look at inflation, when we look at where we are economically, and we are in a strong, we are stronger economically than we have been in history, when you look at the unemployment numbers at 3.6 percent, when you look at the jobs numbers, more than 8.7 million of new jobs created,” she said.

Inflation in the U.S., it should be noted, is at a 40-year high.

On June 15, the Federal Reserve announced its largest rate increase in 28 years, as Chair Jerome Powell said the central banking system would lift the rate to between 1.5 percent and 1.75 percent, a change that could affect unemployment.

However, Democrats instead want Biden to focus on the government to expand its role in decreasing income inequality, clean energy and ensuring that women and minorities have an equal role in labor markets, reported the Western Journal.

Polling numbers look particularly gruesome, with a Monmouth University survey released this week showing Biden’s approval shrinking to a dismal 36% and “an overwhelming majority of Americans disapproving of the job he is doing as the nation’s commander-in-chief.”

Infighting among Democrats doesn’t solve the problem, either. Progressives support the idea of lifting some tariffs against China, while moderates oppose it.

“It’s a policy that would get you very little and make a lot of people very mad,” a Biden administration official said. The debates within the Democratic Party are “mostly respectful but may not stay that way.”
