Ultra-Toxic Lori Lightfoot Frets over Lack of Civility in Public Discourse

'No, what we do in the United States is come together as a community... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Radical political activist and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has claimed that American politics is simply missing civility in public discourse.

Just a week after shouting vulgarities about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas during a public speech, Lightfoot has demanded better manners in public discourse, suggesting that radical speech causes political divisions to widen, Outkick reported.

“F— Clarence Thomas!” she said, failing to model the political civility that she so admires in others.

“He thinks that we are going to stand idly by while they take our rights – our right to marry – our right to have children – our right to live,” she continued, alluding to his recent Dobbs concurrence in which he suggested that several other precedents from the activist era of the court be overturned, including Obergefell.

After the fact, Lightfoot was unapologetic, and doubled-down on her statement.

But now Lightfoot has changed her tone, and is just looking for peace.

“The toxicity in our public discourse is a thing I think we should all be concerned about, right?” Lightfoot said on Monday, answering a question about the media’s treatment of the recent Highland Park shooting.

Lightfoot continued to appeal for political unity, suggesting that the nation come together in civility on the Fourth of July despite her long career of stoking political activism and rioting.

“You know, we’re not like a lot of other countries where their version of Independence Day is marked with troops and tanks. No, what we do in the United States is come together as a community,” she added.
