(Headline USA) President Joe Biden credited soaring gas prices as part of the “incredible transition” the U.S. is going through to move away from fossil fuels.
“[When] it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” he said during a press conference in Japan on Monday.

The president then insisted that his administration’s energy policies are keeping gas prices “from getting worse,” even though they’re already “bad.”
“The price of gas at the pump is something that I told you — you heard me say before — it would be a matter of great discussion at my kitchen table when I was a kid growing up,” Biden added. “It’s affecting a lot of families.”
The average cost of a gallon of gas nationwide is now $4.596 per gallon, according to AAA.
This is not the first time Biden and his administration officials have inadvertently admitted that they believe higher gas prices will advance their environmentalist agenda. Last year, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg argued people wouldn’t have to worry about paying so much at the pump if they just bought an electric vehicle.
“Families who own that [electric] vehicle will never have to worry about gas prices again,” he said in November.
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm has made similar comments, but denied this week that high energy prices are intentional.
“That is absolutely false,” she said.
“The price is on the global market … oil is traded globally. We do want to see a movement toward electrification of transportation, but we know that many people are not in a position to buy an electric vehicle today.”
