CDC Chief Reluctantly Corrects Justice Sotomayor’s Crazy COVID Lies

'We have over 100,000 children, which we've never had before, in serious condition and many on ventilators... '

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found itself in the awkward position of trying to defend an outrageous COVID claim made last week by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor during a hearing over the Biden administration’s tyrannical vaccine mandate.

“We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition and many on ventilators,” Sotomayor said, referring to the impact the Omicron variant has had on the current state of the pandemic.

Instead of conceding that Sotomayor was totally off the mark with the wildly inflated number, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky on Fox News dodged the issue with a weaselly and rambling response about the importance of vaccinations.

“What we can find … suggest there are fewer than 3,500 current pediatric hospitalizations from COVID-19. Is that true?” Fox News Sunday host Brett Baier asked.

“Yeah, but, you know, here’s what I can tell you about our pediatric hospitalizations now,” Walensky said, before digressing into a rant about unvaccinated children, reported the Daily Wire

“Understood, but the number is not 100,000, it’s roughly 3,500 in hospitals now,” Baier countered to the obfuscation, to which Walensky was forced to agree because it’s hard to argue with math.

When asked about the number of children on ventilators, Walensky couldn’t provide an answer and instead doubled-down with her vaccination scolding.

“I guess what I’m getting at,” Baier said, “is that the Supreme Court is in the process of dealing with this big issue about mandates, and do you feel responsibility as the CDC director to correct a very big mischaracterization by one of the Supreme Court justices?”

Walensky’s response was more weaving and dodging and vaccine cheerleading.

“What my responsibility is is to provide guidance and recommendations to protect the American people,” she said. “Those recommendations strongly recommend vaccination for our children above the age of 5 and boosting for everyone above the age of 18 if they are eligible.”

Sotomayor’s bogus claim about the number of hospitalized kids wasn’t the only whopper being spouted from the High Court’s far Left.

Justice Elena Kagan suggested that getting the vaccine reduces the spread of COVID-19, a notion that has been widely debunked by the spread of Omicron among the fully vaccinated and boosted.

Justice Stephen Breyer echoed Kagan’s assessment, reported The Federalist, when he reasoned that employees would quit their jobs if the had to work alongside the unvaccinated.

“And more will quit because they’ll maybe die, or maybe they will be in the hospital, or maybe they’ll be sick and have to stay home for two weeks,” Breyer said, before suggesting that a vaccine mandate would eliminate COVID-19 cases in the U.S.

And not to be outdone by Sotomayor’s crazy math, Breyer offered that there were “750 million new cases yesterday” of coronavirus, despite the U.S. population being less than half that number.
